Core Values

We believe prayer is the foundation of a thriving relationship with God. We desire to be a church that seeks the Lord personally and corporately through prayer, that commits to praying for the lost, that bears one another's burdens, and is passionate about the advancement of the Gospel. So, we want to be a church on the way to pray, meaning our entire lives are oriented around prayer, which is ultimately intimacy with God. We believe that becoming a church on the way to pray invites the Lord to use us for His purposes and palces to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour." Acts 3:1

We believe Scripture and biblical community are foundational for spiritual growth. God designed believers to grow through studying His Word, serving one another, and living life in authentic community. At FBC, this happens through Sunday School, Bible studies, serving together, and living life with one another in an intentional way. To be a disciple of Jesus means more than just mere activity and busyness. We long to see everyone engaged within the life of FBC.

"All Scripture is breathed out by GOd and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16

We believe the Christian faith is not merely a private faith, but that it should compel believers to serve and disciple others. We long to see everyone take the next step at FBC by seeing their involvement as part of building up the body of Christ. We want every believer investing in the lives of others at FBC. Whether that is on a serve team, discipling kids, or joining a community outreach team, we want to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community as we seek to reach Eastland County with the Gospel.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." Matthew 28:16-20

We believe that seeing disciples take their faith into their homes, workspaces, and recreational activities will have the greatest Kingdom impact in our community. We long to equip believers to connect their faith and work, to help individuals discern God's calling upon their lives, to develop leaders for the local body of believers as well as for the community, and ultimately to cultivate believers who are passionate about sharing their story of how the Gospel has changed their lives.

"I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called . . . to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." (Eph 4:1, 12)
